Eva Dixon b. 2000 Waratah, Australia; lives and works in London, United Kingdom. Dixon takes the persona of a ‘mad-scientist’, investigating materials and subverting their purpose to fit a need within the work. Most recently this has taken the form of sheer polyester assemblage stretched over re-constructed stretcher bars. The geometric forms in Dixon’s work are pulled from construction, mirroring the appropriated materials the artist uses such as electrical shrink tubing, paracord and recycled wooden pallets. In doing this Dixon blurs the lines between painting, sculpture and craft whilst investigating how the relationship between opacity and transparency can expose the structure and surface as one. Dixon’s use of stable and unstable materials leaves the work in a constant tension, offering a site to question making process and the binaries between labours.

Eva Dixon b. 2000 Waratah, Australia lives and works in London, United Kingdom. Of recent, the artist has had her first solo show at The Fores Project in London ('Lesbian Trucker Paintings') and has received the LVMH Maison 0 award 'This Earth' for an art practice with a focus on sustainability. Dixon completed a BA in Fine Art in 2023 at Central Saint Martins (where she also completed her foundation in 2018). Dixon has completed two residencies, both resulting in group shows; one in Paris at La SIRA in 2022 and with Good Eye Projects in London (also in 2022). The latter of which lead to her group show with Christie's ('Next', 2023). Dixon has received grants from both Kew Garden's and the Richard Coward Foundation. Presently, the artist is gearing up for several group shows to close out 2023 and going into 2024 she is preparing for a duo show in London and a solo in Mallorca.
