The Filthy Fox Auction Club is an artist-run auction ‘club’ based in London, run by two friends and art passionates:  Paula Parole (left) and Alexandra Hochguertel (right).

Being part of the eco-system of art college, it has become crystal clear to them how difficult the start of an artistic career within the inaccessible art market can be. The need for more opportunities post-graduation and the tough transition into the “real” art market is what triggered the creation of the Filthy Fox Auction Club. They were disheartened by the fact that many people who would be open to buy art have no access to it, nor the understanding that it can be much more affordable then one’d think and where to look for it. So they decided to build a bridge. There lies so much unseen potential in art grads, which needs to be seen!

Through their out-of-the-ordinary auction events in spaces around London, they wish to introduce and support a selection of emerging artists - right of London’s art colleges. Their auctions are always broadcasted on Instagram-Live, which offers people from all over the world to bid from anywhere in the comment section.
Artists for each auction are hand-selected and receive 100% of the hammer price. Artists are asked to quote a starting price, which usually is extremely fair, in order to include newbies to the art-world and fosters accessibility for a wider art enthusiastic audience.
Their infamous auctions are social get-togethers for the emerging art scene, creating connections between fellow artists, first-time buyers, collectors and London’s creatives. A special surprise in their illustrious events are their performance acts prior the auction - featuring singers and artists of the stage to engage with the audience.
The FFAC events are for everyone, new and “old” to the art world, they are focused on creating a community of artistic exchange for London’s next gen of artists. Like a filthy fresh wind in the white-walled art industry. Anyone who might feel yet too intimidated to buy from galleries, gets a chance to invest in original artworks and support the emerging artists within a very fair range.

The Filthy Fox Auction Club aims to democratise and dedust the rigid art + auction market and make space for new voices. FFAC’s core values are transparency, playfulness, fairness, accessibility, and inclusivity. 👉👈

Paula Pfitzner, Co- Founder

As a recent Fine Art graduate (MFA, CSM), Paula is aware of the struggle her peers face upon graduation. Finding opportunities to showcase and sell their work, whilst maintaining their artistic integrity is crucial for emerging artists
- especially upon graduation.

Apart from her artistic practice in painting and sculpture, she has acquired year-long work experience from leading art institutions, such as the Boros Collection Berlin, Grisebach Auction House or Eguiguren Gallery (TEFAF), developing a commercial understanding of the sector. Her insight into the industry revealed an uneven power structure in the art worlds which she wishes to disrupt. Paula currently resides with the Bomb Factory Art Foundation, North London.
